Spring Art 2019

We really enjoy our Art and Crafts at Carrakennedy N.S. Here are some of our recent creations!

Soccer

Harry Grimes, Killian Conway, Aidan Malone, Nathan Hoban, Michael McDonnell, Aodán Gavin, Matthew O’Malley and Brooke Grimes participated in the Spar 5 aside Socccer Blitzheld at Westport United this week.

The team played brilliantly, winning their group games against Mulranny N.S. Brackloon 2 and Killeen N.S. This got us through to the semi-final against Lankill N.S. whom we defeated 2-1. It was a very tight final game against Brackloon N.S. unfortunately we were narrowly defeated by a late goal in the second half.

We are so proud of these young sports people who took their defeat in good spirit. They are to be commended for this.

We hope to participate again next year but for now we are going to focus on the GAA as we await the Cumann na mBunscol Blitz .

Thank you to Martin Conway who coached all the children and to everyone who came to support.

St Patrick’s Day and Seachtain na Gailge.

We celebrated all things Irish this week and made a special effort to “Bí ag caint Gaeilge” We had great spóirt at the céile in the school halla on Friday as part of our assembley. The senior pupils attended a Drumming performance “Pulse” as part of the Mac Luí Arts Festival. Well done to Jack O’Malley who was on stage.
