We would like to congratulate Aidan Malone, Ella O’Malley, Killian Conway, Marion Heneghan, Michael McDonnell and Nathan Hoban- the wonderful 6th class pupils of Carrakennedy NS.
These hardworking, enthusiastic, dedicated and talented children have brought so much to our school over the past 8years. To celebrate their time in Carrakennedy we held a special, socially distanced graduation on Thursday 18th June. Unfortunately, Marion was unable to join us in person on the day but tuned into the ceremony via video call. They have made wonderful friends here in Carrakennedy and are leaving with great memories. They are now beginning a new and very exciting chapter of their lives- one which we hope they will enjoy.
We would like to wish them the very best in secondary school and look forward to them keeping in touch and visiting us next year. Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh, a phaistí!

We are living through a very unique time in history and it is really important that we are able to remember all the things we did during Covid-19 in the future.
For this reason, we asked the children of Carrakennedy NS to create a 2020 Covid-19 Time Capsule. The children spent a lot of time creating, personalising and decorating their capsules over the past few weeks.
On 22nd June we will collected all of the Time Capsules. We were blown away by the huge effort and thought that went into each and every capsule. They are amazing.
They have now been bound and boxed up and are ready for storage.
The capsules will be stored safely in the school for 8 years and when our current Junior Infants are in 6th class graduating, we will invite all of the classes of 2020 back to our school to celebrate the history we have made. This will be a very special day. We can’t wait to open our books and look back on this historical event. They will be a keepsake to cherish forever.

Congratulations to the children of Carrakennedy NS who became experts over the past few months on Zoom calls. They all partcicipated with great enthusiasm. We are so proud of you all- well done!

We were delighted to receive the great news from An Taisce that we have been awarded our 6th Green Flag- Global Citizenship: Energy. We have worked really hard over the past two years on this theme and really enjoyed it.
An Taisce then sent us an email to say they had picked out the best schools for a very special celebration.
They informed us that the work that went on in our school stood out enormously and we were chosen as a regional winner. We are absolutely thrilled with this great news and look forward to raising our Green Flag and special trophy in the new school year.
