Welcome Back

Dear Parents,

The staff and BOM are looking forward to welcoming all children back to school for the 2020/2021 school year next Tuesday 1st September at 9.20am.

We are satisfied that we have the control measures in place to ensure that this will be a safe re-opening for everyone. It will take time for everyone to get used to the new circumstances as we become familiar with the new routines and procedures designed to keep everyone safe and to
prevent the spread of Covid-19.

There will, undoubtedly, be some unforeseen challenges and we will
deal with these as they arise.

We have attached the following documents for you to read (see downloads section at bottom of the page).

It is really important that you become familiar with all the measures outlined in these documents.

Please note that they are live documents that will be reviewed regularly and updated in line with DoES guidelines and feedback. The full Covid-19 Response Plan for Carrakennedy NS is available to view on the school website.

We would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation and we look forward to working with you as we assist the children in adapting to the necessary changes.

We are very conscious of the fact that children have not been in school since March and we want to make their return to school as enjoyable and worry-free as possible. We hope they are all looking forward to coming back to school and seeing everyone again.

We would like to extend a special welcome to Evie O’Malley and James McDonnell our two new Junior Infant pupils. We also wish our outgoing 6th class Aidan, Ella, Killian, Marion, Michael and Nathan the very best in Secondary school.

If you have any queries in the coming days, please do not hesitate to make contact.

For now, we would like you all to enjoy the remaining few days of the holidays- let’s hope for some sunshine!

Many Thanks
Aideen and Mary
