The Junior room had a fantastic time on their school tour taking in Newport Playground, Ballycroy National Park and enjoying a delicious meal in Nevins. They were served by the robot which was a real highlight! Another great day with wonderful memories
We had an absolutely brilliant day in Dublin on our school tour. Our first stop was Liffey Valley where we enjoyed shopping and a visit to Jump Zone. We then travelled to Dublin Zoo where we were treated to a guided tour of the African Plains. We were lucky to see lots of animals on the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and will always remember it.
The girls took on Manulla in the quarter final at Westport GAA this week. They played an outstanding game earning themselves a place in the county semi final. Best of luck girls in the next round
The Junior Room enjoyed a pizza party with Ms. McDonnell this month. They topped their own pizzas with ham and cheese. They tasted absolutely delicious. Well done boys and girls!
Congratulations to our 1st and 2nd class pupils Kate Conway, Grace O’Malley, Lily O’ Malley, Patrick O’ Malley, Katie Gallagher, Harry Hayes, Shauna Hoban, Cillian Mc Donnell and Isabelle O’Malley who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday 1st May. You were all absolutely brilliant and carried out your tasks of reading, singing, bringing up gifts, dressing the table and receiving you first holy communion excellently. We are very thankful to Ms. Connolly for her all her hard work and effort in preparing the children for their big day. As always it was an extremely momentous occasion for all involved. Sincere thanks also to Fr. Britus and to Lenny and Ciaran for the beautiful music. We were thrilled to be able to come back to the school for the Communion Party- there was a great crowd and party atmosphere. Sincere thanks to all the parents who helped out with the party both on the day and behind the scenes.
The Junior room enjoyed celebrating The Last Supper with Ms. Connolly today- we missed it before Easter due to Covid but not to worry- better late than never!
The children had a great day in Islandeady for the Cumann na mBunscol Blitz before Easter. We are so proud of both teams who did their best on the day. Our girls team sailed through their games and are now through to the Quarter Finals. They will be playing the winners of the Castlebar small schools blitz. We are awaiting confirmation of the date, time and venue of this game. Hard luck to our boys on the day. Hopefully we will have more sporting success in the future.
We enjoyed a whole school céilí and seisiún ceoil in the school hall to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge. The Junior children wore yellow and blue headbands to show their solidarity with those who are suffering in the Ukraine. Our thoughts are with everyone there.
We were delighted to receive a large number of trees to plant around our school as part of the Trees on the Land initiative. We planted them to during National Tree Week. We look forward to watching them grow in the years ahead.
The senior room had great fun in February working on science projects. Using their knowledge of forces they had to create a machine. Have a look at what they came up with. They showcased them for the Junior room and they were very impressed. well done everyone!
