We are thrilled to be part of the Pilot Language Programme for Primary schools and are really enjoying learning French with Douglas Whittaker from Westport Language School. Douglas is doing a 6 week block with us and we are learning alot from him. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Senior room pupils as it gives them a taster of the French language and culture in a fun and engaging way. C’est trés bien. Merci Douglas. We hope to be chosen again next year so we can continue with our modern language learning.
We had a blast during Science week and really enjoyed taking part in the Mayo County Council Scientific Sue programme. We loved investigating how Bath Bombs are made and were mesmerised by the effects of CO2 and oxygen on a naked flame. It was a really enjoyable project. We love Science and look forward to more exciting experiments and STEM activities each month.
Well done to Ciara, Emma and Maria from 6th class who played on the winning team securing a county title in the Under 13 girls football final. We were so delighted for you. Thank you for bringing in the cup for us to see and allowing us to celebrate with you. Hopefully it will be the first of many for you girls!
Congratulations to all the senior room pupils who took part in the Westport Lions Club art competition. We were absolutely delighted to feature in the Mayo News as part of this initiative. A special congratulations to Emma Conway who won First Prize in the competition and Chloe Heraty who claimed Second Prize. Well done everyone your pictures were fantastic.
