Cumann na mBunscol West Mayo Westport

We had a wonderful day at the Westport area Cumann na mBunscol blitz held in Westport today. Today was a special occasion as the family of the late Tommy O’Malley have donated two shields to be presented to the winners of the Division 5 Westport area competition each year. We are so proud of both our boys and girl’s teams who won the shields today and have made it through to the quarter finals. Wishing them the best of luck in the next round.

Yes to Languages

We had another great 6 week block with Douglas from Westport language school. The children learned French this year and made great progress during his time here. This is a great initiative and we are so thankful to be a part of it. Hopefully we will be chosen again next year.

Congratulations to all the boys and girls who won Term 2 full Attendance Awards. We all know that Every day at school counts and try our best to come to school each day unless we are sick.

Easter Fun

We had eggselent fun looking for all the eggs and treats that the Easter Bunny left around the school for our Egg Hunt. These are very well deserved treats after another term of hard-work in Carrakennedy NS. Wishing you all a very Happy Easter. Enjoy the holidays.

Tri-Heroes

Congratulations to the boys and girls in the senior room who completed their triathlon training with Rianna and partook in the Tri—Heroes Duathlon in Lough Lannagh this week. It was a wonderful experience and we have learned so much over the past few weeks about cycling and running. A huge thank you to Mayo Sports Partnership for giving us the opportunity to participate.

The girls really enjoyed their day of soccer at the West Mayo FAI blitz. Unfortunately it was not to be for our team today. Well done on giving it your all girls- we are so proud of you all.
