We learned about Fairtrade at assembly this week. Fairtrade is based on a partnership between some of the most disadvantaged farmers and workers in the developing world and the people who buy their products. When farmers sell on Fairtrade terms it provides them with a better deal-an opportunity to improve their lives and plan for the future. We decided to bake a fairtrade cake to raise awareness about Fairtrade products. We made a banana and chocolate cake. It was delicious. It was a fun way to learn about Fairtrade produce.
