Our boys and girls recently took part in the West Mayo FAI Blitz held in Westport, enjoying a fantastic week of football and teamwork. The boys played a mixed team including the 6th Class girls who competed on the 3rd of March, putting in a great performance as they defeated Islandeady, drew with Killeen, and were narrowly beaten by Mulranny, just missing out on a place in the semi-finals. The girls also had a brilliant day, playing with great skill and determination. They recorded two impressive wins against Murrisk but came up against a very strong Lankhill side, who went on to win the West Mayo title. Both teams thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and sportsmanship on display. Well done to all involved, and a sincere thank you to Ann for her continued support and dedication in coaching the children.
